Tavendale and Partners takes on Auckland

We are excited to formally announce the opening of our Auckland office and appointment of two new Partners – Henry Moore and Richard Rodden.

Known predominantly as a boutique South Island firm, our work in other regions often flies under the radar. While our non-traditional approach allows us to partner with any person or business regardless of location, it’s exciting to now have a physical presence in Auckland, where many of our clients’ businesses are experiencing rapid growth.

In addition to servicing the needs of existing clients, we see this as an opportunity to grow the talent in our team and expand our unique offering within the Auckland region. Our approach to law is different; we put people first, are solutions-focused, and strive to make a difference. We are therefore looking forward to expanding our network of people and businesses in Auckland who align with this approach.

Auckland

Taking this step was always subject to finding the right people ‘on-the-ground’ who shared the vision and values of TP. As a firm, we pride ourselves on having a culture that people want to be a part of. With that in mind, it was an easy decision inviting Henry Moore and Richard Rodden to join the Partnership and lead our Auckland team.

According to Henry, joining the firm was a ‘no-brainer’.

“People and culture are at the centre of everything TP does and that ethos is what drives me. It’s inspiring to be working with such a talented group of people and I look forward to further leveraging the firm’s expertise to help build our brand in Auckland.”

Richard also explained that it was the people and culture of TP that appealed to him.

“I am incredibly excited and feel privileged to be able to instil that culture as we solidify our presence in the Auckland market.”

Experts in their respective areas, Henry and Richard also bring with them invaluable legal experience and local networks that compliment those of our existing team. Henry specialises in sports law and dispute resolution, while Richard has extensive experience in commercial property and working with the Public Works Act. Earlier this year, TP merged with Nelson based firm Isherwood Le Gros. The synergies between our businesses were clear, and we continue to enjoy the benefits of working together as one team. The plan for Auckland is no different – we will be working as one, nation wide, which means clients across the country have the support of all our legal experts, together with market knowledge provided by those living locally.
